About SARTastic

Our mission

SARTastic exists to make it simple for everyone to exercise their data rights. Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to know what personal data an organisation holds about you, why, and who they’ve shared it with. We believe that right should be easy to use, not buried behind legal jargon.

We launched with a specific purpose: helping UK consumers get back the commission they were charged unfairly on car finance agreements between 2007 and 2024. Alongside that, we built a general-purpose Subject Access Request tool that works for any UK organisation. Two products, one engine.

Why data rights matter right now

Your personal data is held by hundreds of organisations — banks, insurers, utility providers, social media platforms, loyalty schemes, employers, landlords. A Subject Access Request lets you see exactly what they hold, check it for accuracy, and understand how it’s being used.

The FCA’s car-finance redress scheme makes this particularly concrete. The regulator found unfair commission arrangements on millions of UK car finance agreements written between 2007 and 2024, with total redress estimated at £7.5 billion. A SAR is how you find out whether your own agreement was affected and, if so, what commission was paid to your dealer. You don’t need a claims management company to send one; the FCA explicitly says so.

Whether you’re pursuing FCA redress, checking data accuracy after a breach, or simply curious about your digital footprint, SARTastic gives you the tools to act.

How we help

We generate the legally compliant SAR letter for you, personalised from the details in your profile, and we email it on your behalf from our server. Replies route straight back to your own inbox, you’re BCC’d on every outbound letter, and we track the 30-day statutory response deadline for every SAR in your dashboard. If an organisation misses the deadline, we help you understand your options — up to and including escalation to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

For the car-finance vertical we go further: the 22 major UK car finance lenders are pre-loaded with their dedicated FCA-redress complaint inboxes, so your letter reaches the right team on day one rather than being triaged through a generic DPO queue.

The service is free to use. We don’t sell your data, we don’t share it with third parties, and we don’t take a cut of any compensation you receive. An optional Pro tier (launching soon) adds automated response-handling for users who’d rather we do the clerical work; it’s genuinely optional, and we’ll always keep the core SAR-generation-and-send flow free.
